The stage is set, the spotlight's ready, and the curtains are gearing up for a show that's more than just entertainment. Welcome to Migraaaants by Two Thousand Feet Up, owning the spotlight at Theater Passe Muraille from January 13 to January 28, 2024.

Now, let's dive into the world of Migraaaants, a dark comedy written by Matei Visniec that truly shook the hearts of all of its viewers, especially in light of what’s happening in the world right now. The play shows Asylum seekers maneuvering through the chaos of war, squeezing onto an overcrowded boat, and then facing a dangerous and uncertain welcome.

Migraaaants isn't your average theater vibes; it's a deep, multimedia performance, with a mix of Arabic and English that shows the heart-breaking stories of refugees risking it all for a shot at basic human rights. Their stories don't just scratch the surface; they dive deep into the lense of a global crisis showing the complexities of displacement. It explores the tense journeys of those escaping, and the political chess games shaping this chaos.

In an interview with Ahmad Meere, the powerhouse behind the big “Boss” character, he shared with us what the play means to him:

"My feelings about the play are a mix of two things. I'm stoked to be a part of this production that brings to light the stories of displacement and refugees, something I've personally experienced. I came to Canada as a refugee myself, and guess what? The stories are still unfolding. I’m glad I get to use my tools and talent to tell these crucial stories. It's important for artists to unite like this to shed light on an ongoing crisis. Displacement is not just a part of history; it's a sad reality playing out as I speak. People are still forced out of their homes in Syria, Palestine, and beyond. These stories are not just relevant; they're urgent."

Migraaaants doesn't just make you ponder the world's state; it tugs at your heartstrings, urging you to empathize and question what you can do.

Go grab those tickets here. Habibi because this play isn't just breaking the fourth wall; it's tearing down the walls that divide us!
